The Art of Gerrymandering

There term “gerrymandering,” which refers to redrawing electoral districts in a way to favor the political party in power, first came into use in 1812. Since that time, and before, it has been used to manipulate election results, perhaps never more successfully than in the gerrymandering following the 2010 midterm elections.
